Delia
Parr
 Challenge:
Delia Parr wanted a new look and
feel for her website to showcase her new book and to reflect
the new direction in which her writing has taken her. While
the site needed to reflect her simple style, she wanted it
to be as few pages as possible while still being able to
communicate effectively to her readers.
Solution:
e-Studio191 used its experience
to design a simple and functional site with the feel that not
only provided Ms. Parr with the image she was looking for,
but also applied the best in user interface practices, using
Flash for the text. This allows the viewer to read without
scrolling through the entire page, making the site friendly
and welcoming. Also her extensive publishings still needed
to be showcased with the awards they have won. This was accomplished
buy having excerpts and awards pop-up in a separate window
so the viewer may read an excerpt and, if so desires, may purchase
the book.
Result:
The design received enthusiastic
approval from Ms. Parr for its simple, easy-to-understand navigation.
The information is also easy to find and concisely worded. The
colors that have been selected relay her fondness for the water
and serenity. The end result is a successful website that has
increased Ms. Parr's visibility and ability to interact with
her readers.
